Metro Ethernet

Delivering Flexible Ethernet Connections

FiberRing Metro Ethernet Service consists of dedicated, point-to-point circuits over FiberRing transmission facilities. The service allows offices to be connected through a secure, high-speed, dedicated connection, which allows customers the ability to integrate a number of applications´including voice, data, facsimile, messaging and video conferencing´on a single, high-speed link.

This flexible service complements FiberRing´s current portfolio of Private Line Services by bridging the gap in bandwidth and geographic coverage, while also offering additional value-added features. Using an alternative transmission service, FiberRing Metro Ethernet Service provides customers with the flexibility to upgrade services quickly in order to meet incrementally growing bandwidth needs.

Customers unsure of bandwidth requirements will find the FiberRing Metro Ethernet Service an attractive investment: start with the minimum known bandwidth requirement, have the capability to burst, and quickly upgrade the circuit if additional bandwidth is needed.

FiberRing offers two types of service:

  • Flatfee
Basic service provides sustained bandwidth at a subscribed rate.
  • Burstable
Enhanced service allows for bursting capability. The customer can take advantage of additional idle network bandwidth if needed without having to commit to a higher bandwidth monthly price.
